Rome Day 1; Picnic at the Pantheon and weddings galore...

Ok guys, it's me again, cap'n Gabe. Thought you got rid of me huh, well it's not that easy lol. Well actually you did get rid of cap'n Gabe, cuz when in Rome you gotta get all Latin n' stuff. So now its the voyages of Don Gabriel the Count de Monti Crisco! Isn't that awesome! I have a cool new signing off symbol too! :{ i think my stache looks pretty handsome and phisticated! Way better then zorro, (that beats a dumb 'z' any day) and eat your heart out cap'n crunch! (I'm soooo past that whole cap'n thing, being a Don's way cooler)...

So any who...hectic travel day blah blah blah... I finally end up in Rome this morn at 7am their time, that's 10 pm our time, yikes!! I was sooooo tired, the plane trip was pretty hectic and I wanted to sleep. Thankfully my seated neighbor cliff was kind enough to share his nyquil, woohoo, that plus some wine, and I swear I at least got 20 good min o' shut eye..

So i took the train into central Rome from the airport. It was pretty cool cuz from the train tracks you saw all this grafiti against the backdrop of these ancient ruins. Kinda cool to see the new age meets old kinda thing (see the pics) anyways after that I checked in, left my bags and even tho I was dead tired, I set off to see Rome.

First stop, the Pantheon. So way back in the day, (like before Jesus) roman emperors agustus cesars son in law Marcus Agrippa felt like making this huge domed temple as a tribute to all the gods (pan = all, theon = theos = gods). It was really pretty cool, the entry way was 23 ft high with huge bronze doors. And inside the dome was huge! Really amazing that they made all of it without computers or modern day machinery. And there was this couple doing there wedding pics there so i took some pics of em and their like 'grazi!' and im like 'prego!' cuz im sooooo tricking people into thinking im straight up don gabriel the italiano....lol

After seeing the pantheon, I grabbed a 'picnic' and ate it on the fountain in pantheon square with the fountain at my back. Fresh bread, mozzarella, tomatoes, prosciutto, salami, kalamatas, artichokes, aged Parmesan, and a bottle of vino! Delish! As I stumbled to my feet..lol.. I saw a local roman walk by licking a cone filled with what i soon came to know as frozen creamy goodness....Fresh Italian Gelato!!!! O man, this stuff makes ice cream taste like CRAP!!! Lol jk, ( no I'm not!!!) it looked so good I had to try it, and you know what they say... " When in rome..... Eat some gelato sucka!!! (or somethin like that...hehehe)

So after I drunkenly devoured my cone of heaven and life and all that is good in this world, I went back to my temporary home, took a nap, then set off to do the 'Dolce Vita' evening stroll. From Piaza del Popolo to the roman national monument. tWas cool, and at the end in this square that michaelangelo designed what else did I see but another newlywed couple, taking pics again! So since the other couple was so honored by my non-stalkerish, 'good Samaritanish' taking pics before... I decided to catch some more. Oooooo man!!!!! Check out this pic, no Photoshop or anything!!! I should sell it and it becomes famous and watch they totally try to kill (or just sue) me when they realize The Don is selling they're pic and gettin rich off it lol...

....Well i guess danger just follows me around, but that's the life of a Don/count, always livin on the edge, just comes with the territory...

....and I wouldn't have it any other way...

Singing off,

Don Gabriel, the Count de Monti Crisco
